Job Summary: The purpose of this job is to operate batch mixing and pelleting equipment to mix feed ingredients per the company’s specified feed formulations and to produce quality pellets, cubes and crumbles. This would include the operation of computerized equipment, liquid pumps and the routing systems to maintain product integrity following established procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
* Communicate and coordinate batching schedule and production with appropriate personnel to maximize total plant efficiency while following FDA/GMP and quality control procedures.
* Batch, mix and route feed according to specified formulas, procedures and schedule to fully utilize batching controller, mixing equipment, routing equipment, destination bins and downstream operations (pelleting system, bagging system, bulk load out, etc.).
* Properly weigh all premix additions per established formulations and add to the mixer after major ingredients.
* Learn and perform mill maintenance tasks.
* Learn and perform inventory control tasks.
* Accurately complete and maintain assigned reports, logs and documents.
* Ability to work with and dispatch feed delivery drivers.
* Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Control Manual and established plant procedures and continually monitor the process for finished feed and pellet quality requirements.



Education Requirements:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
