Key Account Manager - Poultry/Swine Animal Nutrition

We are seeking a candidate to be a part of an exciting team of highly motivated colleagues in Danisco Animal Nutrition’s Sales organization. Responsibilities will include:

• Calling on large poultry/swine integrators and companies in the US that blend and resell premixes/concentrates that contain DAN enzymes
• Sale of the division’s direct-fed microbials and liquid/dry betaine products to the same customer base
• Develop new product growth with assigned accounts/business partners in a manner that enhances DAN’s relationships and overall business penetration with those accounts
• Define strategies and financial goals for sales in assigned territory
• Implement strategies and tactics that achieve (or exceed) the financial goals for the assigned territory
• Negotiate the terms and conditions of sales of products and services to customers.
• Reporting monthly progress to the Senior Technical Manager and retaining important information using the Information Technology tools provided by the company, for example Customer Relationship Management (CRM), reports and databases. This information will include:
o Customer strategies and progress on major accounts.
o Other important business/technical information for your territory.
o Market intelligence on competitive products and new products and technology entering the marketplace.
• Contribute to the development of business strategy for your territory, the region, and for the global business.
• Understand competitive threats to our business and to suggest, develop and implement strategic responses to those threats.

To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the candidate must have a 4-year degree or greater coupled with industrial experience in feed ingredients industry and a minimum of 5 years in sales at a senior level. The successful candidate will have superior sales skills or a desire to become a skilled Key Account Manager. The ability to create long term relationships, organizational skills and time management capabilities are critical for success in this role. Additional skills needed are computer skills including the use of CRM, Powerpoint, Word and Excel. Must be able to travel 2-3 nights/week as needed and work from a home office environment.
