India - As many as 25 unidentified men decamped with cash worth Rs 6.37 lakh from a poultry feed mill located in Gopalpura village on Anand-Vasad national highway in Anand district in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The looters, around 3 am on Tuesday morning, threatened the watchmen on duty and broke open the locker of the poultry feed mill that is registered as Mayur Processors and supplies feed to Godrej Agrovet Private Limited, a unit of Godrej industries.

According to police, while two watchmen Dharmendrasinh Rajput and Roshansinh Rajput were guarding the factory premises, a third watchman Bablusinh Rajput was taking rest on the terrace of the factory when the looters arrived in a tempo.

As one of the looters wearing a mask posed as a delivery man and engaged the watchmen on duty in conversation near the entrance gate of the factory, 24 men entered the premises with sticks and sickles, tied the two guards and left them in bushes surrounding the factory.

Later, they also threatened the third watchman and started inquiring about the safety locker. "All these looters were wearing masks. Most of them were of 25 to 30 years of age and were speaking in Hindi and Gujarati," said Vasad police sub-inspector MD Puar, who is investigating the case.

Vikas Taneriya, who manages the feed mill, has registered a complaint at Vasad police station under section 395 of the Indian Penal Code.
